Sounds like a heck of a lot of trouble to go thru....I am not going to go to all this hassle unless somebody confirms to me that this was an AAA rated superfantastic clip that is really worthwhile seeing. Sure....945 people downloaded it...and I bet 90% of them just did as I did...i.e., not able to view it...so went onto something else. This is my number one pet peeve...folks who use special format that require you to install additional software.
Number one rule about web design...unless your web page comes up in less than 20 seconds...folks just skip your site...same thing with video files...they must conform to all the most commonly used format...not unique codecs that few people have....so I just skip anyhing that cannot be easily seen...life is too short. Folks who use special codecs think they are trying to impressing people...when they are not...just frustrating people...
Also you say
"one of my programs are recognising the format of it"
which proves my point...you cannot view it either = BAD FILE...none of us can either. All the 945 downloads means...is that you had 943 people who could not view it and could not care less...so they moved on..while Sean and I were interested to see it...but not longer can be bothered when it is too much hassle to install extra softwares..
Yeah...it was the belt on my power steering that went as well.

By WETINRED - wetinred@cableone.net Tue 24/08/04 10:51:57 GMT Website: www.wetinred.com Ok! As of yesterday, on the "vox" clip there were 945 downloads and Mark and Sean are the only ones that have said anything to me about not being able to view it. But for some reason, none of my programs are recognising the format of it, in order to re-encode it so, the only thing I can suggest is that u go to
http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/11/2/7/11-2-7-10.shtml
and download the newest version of the AceMegaCodecs package 6.01Pro. Run the installation. When u come to the dialogue box that has all the codecs listed, choose "professional" from the dropdown menu at the top of that box.
Go thru the list carefully and IMHO, uncheck the following items: Anything to do with "Real Player", the BS or what I call the bullshit Player,lol/the anti-virus/and the windows classic player. Also u don't need that bullshit Morgan Media stuff, either. Leave everything else checked. And do not remove any of ur old codec software, as the new codecs replace what u already have. Be sure to leave the quick uninstaller checked, so u can remove it if u have to.
They tell u to only install those codecs that u need, cuz they say it can mess u up. But if we knew what codecs we needed, we could do that without worrying. But the program does work. I didn't realise that they had upgraded the software so I just overwritted(sp) the 5.95 version I had
Good Luck, and Oh! BTW, Mark, the problem was a stupid belt that broke and thats why we lost the power steering

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Tue 24/08/04 03:22:34 GMT Hi Wir
Sorry to hear your power steering went...that happened to me once on a Cadillac I used to have in the 1980's....and it was like wrestling with a gorilla to try and turn the wheel when you lost your power steering.
Did you ever manage to fix that bad mpg file (vox.mpg) on your clip of the week last week...cos I was curious to see that and none of us could play it on various media players...it says the codec is bad or unknown...can you repair that clip for us to see....tks

By WETINRED - wetinred@cableone.net Mon 23/08/04 15:05:56 GMT Website: www.wetinred.com I'm really guessing at why PP hasn't shut me down, possibly cuz I keep my subscriptions as a donation, and/or all of the material, or at least 95% of it are actually from the TV and Movies. But I also never keep anything in it save for my B/W cost each month. But I'm right now opening up a Moneybookers acc't and will add it to the site. Also I just talked to WK and suggested he do the same as I don't think he has the capital need to front CCBill right now. Moneybookers seems like the better solution for the moment.
Also, for the ppl who have already signed up for the LL members site, don't worry! Soon as we get the money part straightened out we will then send u ur user id and it will be good from the date that ur email notification is sent.
And...Yes, b4 y'all start asking,As far as my holiday went Just happened to lose the power steering pump on my van in Vegas, and so we turned around and drove back. And it was extremely dissapointing to me as we planned this 3 months in advance. But we're gonna try it again in October, and with a new vehicle to boot |

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Mon 23/08/04 09:18:48 GMT Website: http://www.settlement4onlinepayments.com/ Unfortunately Paypal do not define adult media based on how tame the pics are...they base their opinions on what is "adult"....based on what the perceived "intended use" is for your media. That is...any media they perceive has no artistic merit...and is purely designed for the purposes of arousal and sexual gratification...thats "adult media" in their opinion. Whether you have nudity or not...is irrelevant. They already shut down me, Tracie and all my other producer friends...and our material is blatantly erotic...but they also shut down Wetlook Unlimited and numerous other g rated wetlook sites too. I am surprised that you lasted this long...and even more surprised they have not shut down WIR too...so both you and WIR need to look for alternative payment systems asap.
FYI...you cannot claim to be a fashion photography site....no more than Wetscape can claim to be a site about "lifesaving" and survibal swimming"...ha ha ...
...and I cannot claim to be a site for "self help and education" either (i.e. how to get an erection without using viagara)
none of us can...even the best photographers like David Wilkey cannot make such claims. Are your pics featured in national magazines -- have you had photobooks published that are now available in mainstream book stores...none of us can claim to be mainstream art or photography sites....
a fetish site is a plain as the nose on one's face...and none of the wetlook sites I know of can claim to have true artistic merit...they are purely for adult entertainment purposes....
You will never win debates about whether what we do is "fashion photography" or not...cos Paypal can just say...show us your cv (resume) and provide us with a list of all the magazines where your photos have been published. The last time I checked...none of the world's top supermodels were leaving messages on my answering machine...asking to do a wetlook session with me...ha ha
Paypal has an assinine view on where they draw the line between "art" and "adult media"...for example...until recently...they were defining all pre-1980 Playboy Magazines as "art" and therefore OK to sell on Ebay....but all post 1980 Playboy magazines were defined as being "porn" and not ok to sell on Ebay. Hugh Hefner must be laughing in his wheelchair...cos what bright spark at Paypal suddenly decided that in 1980...that Playboy suddenly changed from being art...to being porn.. ha ha.
If you want some "satisfaction" to get back at Paypal for what they did to you (and me and 5 million other people)...you can join the class action lawsuit that has recently been filed in the USA. There are some 5 million people that paypal has closed accounts without proper justification...and now several courts have ruled that Paypals rules are discriminatory and illegal...so millions have now joined the lawsuit on them. Of course....the lawyers will get most of money and we may only get a few dollars...but at least we now have the satisfaction of knowing that Paypal will now be tied up in courts for YEARS and will be incurring million of dollars in legal fees and punitive damages for people they wronged.
FYI...several new payment services have now been created "out of the ashes" of paypal...specifically www.yowcow.com and www.stormpay.com will both ALLOW adult websites...and they actively promote themselves to people who have been abused by paypal...i.e. come join us...we are happy to take all the ex-paypal users.
Hope these tips help.
PS...don't use YAHOO PAYDIRECT either....cos they will also shut you down if they feel your site is "adult" too...cos I got shut down by them as well.

By Liquidladies - weinerking@bellsouth.net Mon 23/08/04 03:59:07 GMT Website: www.liquidladies.org PLEASE NOTE******
on 23/8/04 we go a mesage from pay pal stopping all new incoming orders....Once again their stupidity shows with their parent company E-BAY. I am in dispute with them ovwer this matter arguing that we are a G rate fashion photograhy site. Apprearently doing a members page and all the huge amount of orders red flagged them.
BY no means will the effect those who have previously joined and received an e-mail from us, but for those who wish to join from this message on or order tapes or DVD's, YOU MUST either wait until we resolve this matter or go to another collector..
(ANY ideas from those out there on new collectors)..
Or you may place your order by mail to liquidladies at the address shown on the order page.
Sorry for the inconvience, but this is not just a first for many of us.....
