I think it is real...and is a classic example of how you need to be very careful what angles you shoot from and what kind of lens you use...when taking pics that are half topside and half underwater...cos the photographer chose a bad angle to shoot the pic from....cos this is a "Beetle Juice" image...i.e. large lower body with a small pin head....distorted by the water.
I once had a photographer shooting stills for me on one of my shoots...using a wide angle lens from a bad angle underwater...and he said to me "I shot some really cool angles for ya...half in and half out of the water"...and when the pics were developed...the girl's legs and thighs were larger than a tree trunk ...distorted by the water, and her upper body was tiny and her head was the size of a pin...the photos were hilarious (unintentionally) and had to be thrown in the garbage can (the model was not amused when she saw them).
