I use the obvious for a "back-up"; Netscape. Actually I have found over the years it helps to have access to more than one browser, as some websites seem to favor one browser over another (or, more precisely, your web browser will favor certain kinds of websites over others). If a particular website is giving you difficulty (hangs, slow doneloads, freezes, crashes, partial displays, etc.); close your browser and try the site in another one. As long as the internet continues to lack an industry standard, we, the users, will have to put up with this. Especially in these days of multi-media websites. As for I.E., (or any other browser you have used for a long time without maintenance) you need to go into your system files and clean out Explorer's temp. and history files. If that doesn't cure the problem, re-install it from Microsoft's web page.
