You can't see anything in cities and the news uses old stuff from the 90s to show the younger generations what the tradition looked like. The weather is not helping - Easter has been rather cold here lately, colder than Christmas this year for instance ;). However I think cell phones and more expensive smart phones in pockets and bags killed the tradition, made people report it to the cops and the cops react with big fines. The tourist town of Kazimierz Dolny was like Wilamowice one of the last places for tradition - the fire department used hoses to get everyone. This year even this died, as they just shot the water on roofs of old town buildings to create a short show and drove away. |

By Placebo Effect - Wed 08/04/15 00:43:26 GMT I love the wetlook of Easter in Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary etc at this time of year and have done a search on youtube of "oblievačka" that brings up some good vids, like this one...
