First and foremost, my condolences to the French, being an invasion of their territory, as well of the families of all victims regardless of nationality, regarding tonight’s attacks. This is such a shock when this hatred is levied against the innocent public. Considering where the attacks were carried out, not even against the people of a single country, but a multi-national crowd. No doubt, the people harmed were mostly just people trying to get by, day by day, not perpetrators against anybody, right or wrong. It wasn't an attack against a military base.
The day after 9/11/2001, I walked into a do-nut shop. The owners appeared to be middle-eastern. My first reaction was, am I in hostile territory? My reaction haunts me 14 years later. I questioned the beliefs of hard working people here in the American mid-west, working their butts off selling do-nuts to provide for their family, because of a few extremists. I thought I was above that, apparently my instincts are not.
I guess I don't understand what these extremists are trying to accomplish. Creating mistrust against all Muslims? All middle-easterners? Create divisiveness and hatred? They haven't got the numbers to turn the word into a radical Islamic State, just enough to make life difficult for their fellow not-so-radical Muslim?
