Boots are often difficult to keep fitting well after a good soaking. For tall boots, you're supposed to put newspaper in the shank of the boots to absorb some of the moisture. I like to soak low ankle boots and shoes. Sometimes they shrink, sometimes they stretch. Usually they're okay and I wear them many times dry and wet. maybe I just have a lucky streak.
