So he kicked you out just because you looked suspicious? I would have demanded to talk to the general manager and if that didn't work I would call in a complaint to the corporate office! Businesses can "refuse service to anyone", but if they kick someone out for anything other than a specific rule or law violation, they have to give you a full refund (at least here in California). As far as "single guys looking suspicious", I ran into the same bullshit (not water related) at the Tulare County Fair (not my home county) in 2001 (2 days after 9/11, but I am not Middle Eastern). Two police officers saw me by myself riding the carnival rides and thought that a man in his 30s at a carnival by himself looks suspicious. In other words I was profiled, not racially (I am white, one cop was white and one Hispanic), but profiled nonetheless. They demanded to see my driver's license, which they had no right to do since they did not see me driving a motor vehicle or consuming any age-restricted product. Then they ran my license number through a damn computer for an on-the-spot background check. Then they demanded to see my Social Security card and ran that number through the computer also! A complete unreasonable search! The search came back completely clean, so they had to let me go. They asked me a bunch of bullshit qurestions like why would someone from Bakersfield be in Tulare. It was like in a Western movie when the local sheriff says "we don't want no strangers around these parts"! Unfortunately it just isn't culturally accepted for a man in his 30s or older with no kids to go to carnivals, amusement parks, and arcades. The normal target audience for these places is guys 6-20. They realize that a few immature 20somethings will still go, but they assume all guys will "grow up" by the time they turn 30, so and 30+ year old that actually goes there is up to no good. It totally sucks that society has these stupid ideas about what is "grown up" and what is "childish", but people do hold these prejudices. I would guess that the lifeguard would have given you the same trouble for being there alone even if you were wearing a swimsuit.

Amusement Parks

I'd love to go to amusement parks and get wet. I just don't have a girlfriend to take along. I also had a bad experience with one. I went by myself and this was an amusement park that also had a waterpark. There are lots of people that go on the water rides fully clothed, especially in the Lazy River. It seems OK if you're a couple or with friends, but doing it by yourself is the fastest way to get kicked out.

There was a group of people in line ahead of me that went in fully clothed, but when I did it that idiot lifeguard said I was looking suspicious. When I complained, he said single guys in the water fully clothed looks suspicious. (It's amazing what passes for suspicious in this country and what doesn't. People of a certain ethnicity found with 80 pictures of a bridge and they're taking apart 1000 cell-phones? That's not suspicious! No Problem! Single male getting wet fully clothed? We Have A Problem!).

I'm not going to mention the name of this place ( Rt. 95 Exit 98, between Washington DC and Richmond VA ) but that was 3 years ago and I've only been to an amusement park once since then. I got that trip free from a telemarketer. All I had to do was sit in a conference for one day while they tried to sell me a timeshare. They also gave me a free admissions ticket to that place. I guess you get what you pay for!

Next time someone calls with their free time share sales trip, I'll be telling them where to put it!

I am curious. Do you have a general foot fetish and/or sock fetish? I am guessing that you do, since your main interest in wetlook is socks. Certainly nothing wrong with tying 2 interests together. My favorite type of wetlook is water rides, since I love amusement rides and water rides allow me to experience 2 of my greatest pleasures at the same time.

Great stuff, keep up the good work. I probably won't be posting for a while because I'll be on vacation in Central America with one of my friends for the next two weeks.

A few weeks ago I was having lunch with a friend and he was talking about the times he went on vacation with his other friends. Then he said "Hey, Barry, how come you never go anyplace." I told him I used to drive to Florida once a year if I was dating someone, but going on a solo trip is just boring.

Then he said "Do you gotta passport?"

I said I did, so he said "I was thinking about a trip to Belize". Then he started talking about a cave in Belize that I can't pronounce, nor can I remember the name of it. He said he was there last year and he's taking a trip there with his girlfriend next month. Then he said "Barry, you're gonna love this. They give tours to only 32 people per day, and it's alot of swimming through water and stepping in mud. But the tourists are aren't allowed to wear shoes but most of them wear white socks, and half of them are women."

It sounds too good to be true, but I can't wait to see it.

I'm leaving on Friday and I'll return in 10 days, so I might post some more webfinds tomorrow if I can find any.
