Sort of.
It embedded lots of Flash movies on the page, which slowed down my PC so much that the 45 second countdown was crawling. Then, when I clicked the link to download the file, it opened a popup window that ignored attempts to either move or close it. If I clicked the 'x' to close it, Windows didn't even register the click in the default window proc: it didn't depress, and I didn't get a "Not responding" dialog. Nothing. The page in the window was working fine, but the window was stuck.
Finally, I managed to get AdBlock to remove all the Flash movies from the parent page (blocked "http://www.megaupload.com/gui/*.swf") -- this freed up Firefox's event handler to now respond to the popup window's windowing events and I could then close it.
In defence of MegaUpload, I have a PII 333, and Firefox's event handling and threading are abominable, but nevertheless, MegaUpload is a pain. Still, I've sorted it. I checked: it still works without all the Flash movies, so it's OK for me now. |
