That airline was Emirates.
I asked some Canadian airline staff and they have no such tests. But if you fly over Canada, it's all land, so swimming abilities won't help if the plane crashes. |

By AnthonyX - anthonyx@jowc.net Mon 05/12/11 02:20:37 GMT Yup... makes sense. They are safety personnel who should be in position to perform a rescue rather than require a rescue.
Unfortunately, where it is a requirement to be able to swim clothed, the clothes are almost always jeans or shorts and t-shirt, not the actual uniforms they will be wearing on duty. However, there has been some recent youtube of lifeboat drills in pools where the attendants were wearing their uniforms. I think it was either a south asian - Malaysian, Singapore, or central/south american airline.

In reply to Message (52593) Job Interview Test - must swim in clothes - what job is this?
By Jessica - friends@fantasystockings.com Mon 05/12/11 01:04:53 GMT Website: www.youtube.com/fantasystockings Dear friends,
One of the people I know failed her job interview. She can't swim at all, so she didn't even try. There was supposed to be a test swimming in the pool with clothes on. This was not negotiable.
Any guesses for what this job is?
The answer is Flight Attendant! Not all airlines do that though, I checked.
