The boot sadly haven't gone for a swim for a while.
And yes, I'm aware of the issue of the sensor spots. I did a ton of research on the camera before getting it anyway. I read up on cleaning the sensor and purchased a sensor cleaning kit. From what I hear, the problem goes away after several hundred ( or more) shutter releases. I had the same issue with the D7000 but never knew there was a defect that caused it until I read up on the D600. I shot many weddings with the spots on the sensor and they never showed up in any images. I'm going to try cleaning it to see how the cleaning kit works. But thanks for the heads up on the issue. I wanted to jump into the full frame world to get better ISO performance and the D600 was just too tempting and I read that it's a terrific wedding camera. |

By aquaboots - Fri 15/03/13 21:02:19 GMT Todd--Congratulations on the D600, but a warning: I've read that it suffers the same problem of oil spots on the sensor that plagued the D7000. I bought a D7000 when it was first released and experienced that. It took three tries before Nikon service finally conceded it needed more than just a sensor cleaning, and fixed the problem (the mirror mechanism was scattering lubricant). And that was even with the camera shop--an authorized Nikon center--sending it to Nikon each time and arguing with them on my behalf. Argh! Works great now, though. Hope you lucked out with your D7000 and are likewise lucky with the new body. Enjoy it!
To bring this back to wetlook a bit: does Jennifer still take those nice brown leather boots for swims? You know the ones. ;) |
In reply to Message (57326.1) Have you ever thought about ...
By jetwetfun - Fri 15/03/13 18:04:02 GMT Viktor, your pictures are so beautiful! I love your choice of depth of field and angles and your lighting is always gorgeous. Have you ever thought about posting your camera settings, lens used, and lighting and white balance chosen that you used for some of your pictures? Jennifer and I have a photography business and are always looking to improve. We do about 7 weddings a year and maybe up to 10 or so portraits sets (seniors, etc) per year and are always looking for things we can do better. I just upgraded from a D7000 to a D600 (she uses a D90 .. maybe the D7000 this year) to enter the world of full frame. I love to look at pictures of models and wonder what the photography setup was for the pictures. Your pictures would make great learning. Would you be willing to share your setup for this set? Was there any fill flash and how was it used, etc? Thanks for posting your samples. |
