You're absolutely right that it would be wrong of me to make "a huge fuss everywhere" in support of a crusade I am not conducting.

And you're absolutely right that I am not upholding some great objective moral principle in the things I AM saying; rather it is the normal democratic principle in representative democracies, that those people who have the means and inclination to find out the true facts get a vote; and the rest either let others decide for them by not voting at all, or accept whatever their newspaper editor, church, the man in the pub with the loudest voice, or the guy on the telly with the true accent of the ruling classes and the most learned-sounding Latin phrases, tell them.    In this case, those people who upload a video of themselves jumping fully clothed into the water, and even more so those people who happen to get their clothes wet whilst I am in the vicinity with my phone in my hand, know nothing about wetlook Forums and haven't bothered to find out, so they don't get any choice; whilst those people who make collections of wetlook videos almost certainly do know about the Forums, so they should get to choose for themselves whether their content is included on them or not.

But that's not why I'm thanking you, Malvineous.    I'm thanking you for the insight you have given me into what I have sleepwalked into with my Flickr pics.    I have allowed 'producing lots of wetlook pictures' to become an end in itself; I have allowed quality to become totally subordinate to quantity, and I have allowed 'taking pictures' to swamp my own real reason for being on the beach.    I am so obsessed with pretending that I am not interested in the women in wet clothes (so that they don't realise I'm photographing them) that I don't even look at them properly, and don't myself enjoy the wetlook.    And I have lost my moral compass in the quest for 'views'.    The result is, as you so aptly say, "tedious".    The lack of anyone shouting "don't stop your wetlook pictures" in response to either this topic or the earlier one where I said I might have to close the Flickr account, speaks for itself.

I'm not going to stop taking wetlook pictures entirely.    But I shall stop actively seeking them out at any and every opportunity.    From now on I shall only take them when it is genuinely good wetlook, not just somebody getting her jeans a wee bit wet..    And I shall stop posting links to fetish Forums since, as you say, the morality of that is suspect - though I may do descriptions of my wetlook adventures from time to time.

By the way, you do get a choice about whether you take my second para seriously or not.

Your original argument:

"It seems to me to be wrong in principle to post the youtube (or Flickr, or anything else) collections of other people."

These collections contain videos already posted to the Internet. In your case, you are taking photos of people yourself, so the choice of whether these people appear online or not at all is in your hands.

As such, you are (by your reasoning) committing a greater sin by instigating putting pictures of people up for display on a fetish forum.

I was not actually criticising what you have on Flickr (as tedious as it is). I am simply seeing you making a huge fuss everywhere when you don’t have a leg to stand on. I am not arguing against what you post to Flickr or her, but rather that it undermines your own crusade against images and footage of people unwittingly appearing on or being linked from a fetish forum, when you conduct such actions yourself.

Either stop complaining, or bring your actions in line with your alleged beliefs.

It is not me who flagged the collections as 'underage'.   That is not something I do.    In fact whenever I think it is justified I argue against a complaint of 'underage', as most recently in post 77558.    And as a regular visitor to this site you must have seen, in the past, my coinage of 'paedo-pedant' as a protest against those who flag a video or whatever as "underage" when the main subject is not underage, but there are also children in the background.

My 'taking the moral high ground', as you call it, was because somebody (let's call him 'A') had posted somebody else's (let's call him 'B') collection of vids, and then B's collection had got panned as being 'underage' (by others, not me).    That seemed to me unfair to B, who did not appear to have consented to his collection being put up for scrutiny in this way; and, OK let's say it, risked B reacting by withdrawing his collection from public view, which I would find inconvenient personally.

I try always to be positive in the posts I do (as I know you do too) and am actually a bit frustrated that this one piece of negativity (as a reaction to others' negativity) seems to have got me defined as "the one doing all the complaining".    I had hoped that you of all people, Malvineous, would judge me on the totality of my contributions and not just one.

However, I do agree that I have become increasingly unsure about the propriety of taking pictures of people getting their clothes wet.    OK, they are in a public place, no expectation of privacy, constantly monitored by CCTV, on all sorts of people's holiday pics, probably videoed by somebody's helmet cam or dashcam and potentially posted on youtube whenever they walk along the street, all that stuff.     And as I said above, I most certainly do not think that the presence of children in the background - while the main subject is over 16 - is grounds for banning an image from a fetish site.    But still.....

If we are going to play this game … do the people in your photos on Flickr mind being in photos linked from a fetish site, jollywet? (And likewise those posting images/footage from Russian fountains and so forth.)

Granted, you did not post a link this time, but was posting such links ever appropriate, from your own standpoint? After all, having children in YOUR photos seems not to bother you, even though you are the one doing all the complaining about others' actions.

I would suggest that if you want to take any moral high ground here, that you erase all your candid photos off Flickr and stop taking shots of unsuspecting people to post to a fetish site.

That, or stop moaning about others.

Having seen the weather forecasts, I was all set a week ago to head down south for several days of wetlook seeking.    However, the afternoon before departure I started coughing, sneezing and running a temperature, so had to cancel Depressed      However, by Thursday and Friday I felt fit enough to head to Ayr beach - it was just as hot and sunny in the west (though not the east) of Scotland on those days as it was in the south of England, though the rain has come in today (and anyway I'm knackered, I'm obviously not yet fully fit).

Being weekdays the beach was a lot less busy than it would have been in similar weather at the weekend.    The tidal state was also not ideal for wetlook, being low tide in the early afternoon - Ayr is one of these almost-flat beaches where it is a dauntingly long way to the water at low tide.    It also means very few people get fully wet, since you have to wade a very long way to reach 'swimming depth', and anyway at low tide you fall over a jagged reef when you reach thigh depth.

Nevertheless there was quite a lot going on, and I got a few pictures which I have added to my Flickr collection.    Though each pic focuses on a wet-clothed person over 16, there are also, inevitably, children visible in many of them.    Since people on the Forum seem to be becoming increasingly sensitive about the inclusion of children in pics, I have not included a link - you all know where to find my Flickr pics.    At places like Ayr I feel more comfortable keeping the phone upright, so all pics are in portrait format rather than the landscape format which I prefer - sorry about that.

Now some comments on some of the pics:

A43/A44: This is an example of me misjudging when to take the pictures.   The young ladies in tight jeans in these pics went on to wrestle one another into the water and get completely soaked, but the guy who stayed on the beach with their bags, shoes, etc was looking at me suspiciously after I took these pics so I felt I couldn't take any more (and indeed felt obliged to move away before they came back out).   If only I'd waited, but you never know how far in people are going to go....

A45: the person in wet leggings and tee on the right of this pic looks quite young in the picture for some reason - she isn't; suffice it to say that the children were calling her "Mum".

A47: I took this pic because the lady also has shoes on (trainers I think) but they are not really visible under the water.

A48: These are stretch jeans the young lady on the left is wearing; I took a closer pic just after this one which showed them better, but though Flickr said "upload completed" it hasn't uploaded for some reason, and since I delete the pics off the phone after uploading I've lost it.    This is also another case where the camera lies about somebody's age - her companion in hot pants may look like a teenager but is actually in her 30s at least.

A54: The young lady nearest the camera is wearing trousers and a lightweight jacket, and had been sitting in the water with her jacket mostly submerged some time earlier, but I couldn't take a pic then because she was surrounded by others in bathing suits (and anyway you wouldn't have been able to tell what she was wearing whilst submerged).    The one I managed to take is not very good either, I'm afraid, because her companion in a bathing suit was always on the sunny side of her so I gave up and went to the 'wrong' side - she crouched down and soaked the jacket again just after I took the pic, btw.

Its a start anyway - I hope for much more further south later this summer.

In reply to Message (77571) Happy A few summer sightings

It feels like summer has arrived on Britain's south coast at last, so I wanted to share a few things I've seen that make me hopeful for the next few months.

A few nights ago I had a walk along the beach at about 8pm. The weather was cooling off (about 18C) but there were still a few interesting sights. A couple of paddleboarders were in the water, one in her 20s wearing a black t-shirt and black leggings, while a lady in her 30s wore a green vest and black shorts. Both jumped into the water at various times. Shortly afterwards, three women in their 30s walked along the beach. One lady in shorts was quite careful to keep dry, while another in knee length black leggings got wet to mid thigh. The third woman waded out to chest deep water in a black vest and green sports shorts while the others watched for some time. Lastly, a couple in their 40s walked along the promenade when, suddenly, the woman dived into the sea wearing a black vest and grey shorts. The guy looked shocked and she carried on walking along the beach like nothing had happened. All of these events made me hopeful for warmer weather.

Yesterday afternoon the weather was much warmer, probably 25C. I wasn't at the beach for long, but there were many women getting wet, mostly wearing fairly bland outfits. A few favourites were:

The girl in her late teens who pretended not to want to get into the water with two guys, then soaked her denim hot pants. She returned to the beach to remove her t-shirt (which wasn't actually a bad thing in this case), then returned to the water

The Polish woman in her 30s who waded into thigh deep water in colourful leggings, then went back for her husband and child before swimming and soaking her blue vest top

The girl in her late teens who waded into the water to film her boyfriend (jeans and t-shirt). She wore a white t-shirt, black shiny hot pants and black tights but was only wet to the waist.

The oriental woman in her 40s who walked into the shallows with three friends for a photo and was knocked over by a wave, She then swam in her blue spotty long sleeved summer dress. Her two friends in shorts stayed dry, but one wearing rolled up jeans was wet to the thighs.

I'm hoping that others have been as lucky. It's amazing what a misspent half hour can achieve!
