Was this a "mainstream" movie, or was it an adult film in the adult video section.

I cannot think of any mainstream film that would use a picture like that on the VHS box cover. It sounds more like the box covers used by David Wilkey in his Artscene wetlook videos, or maybe Nigel and his video box covers or Mike Ellison and his WSM box covers.....but wetlook videos on VHS in video rental stores were only available in stores in the early 90's.....nobody was selling wetlook videos in mainstream video rental stores in the 1980's.

I would add, as somebody who used to belong to 30+ video rental stores in the 1980's and used to rent 100+ VHS videos per WEEK.....that in many cases the pictures used on video box covers were often totally misleading....i.e. many rental videos used a bogus picture on the box cover and that scene was not in the actual film at all.

I should have bought 2-3 video rental stores, because that would have been cheaper than all the money I wasted on video rentals, I am pretty confident that no tangible wetlook from the 1980's has escaped my eagle eye, and if there was a wetlook scene....I am pretty sure I have it already, and if it was a "false flag" wetlook picture on a box cover that turned out out to be a nothing burger film, then I would have seen that and discounted it already.

Sheesh.....the money I used to waste on video rentals in those days.....I could have bought an Aston Martin if I had not been a wetlook fan. I even used to buy music albums just for the cover....I don't think I ever listened to this UK album I bought in 1977......I just liked the cover....

Hi everyone, I have been around here for a long time now but very rarely post anything.

So I have been into wetlook from a young age like most people here and I have an image in my head from way back when.

So my challenge is, as a kid growing up in the 80s my weekend would end up hiring a video from the store.

I remember seeing a video cover with a women laying on a beach at the waters edge wearing a blue blouse and black skirt soaking wet of course. I don't know anything else about it but all these years later I still remember that image.

So has any of you got any ideas just for fun.
