But I think I should warn you, this footage did not come from one of my regular contacts. It came from a guy from California who just wanted to get rid of his old VHS-c format camera tapes from the 1980's. FYI VHSc cameras were 8mm tapes that recorded in a really low quality (the equivalent of a 240p video on Youtube). Those VHSc format video cameras in the 1980's were pretty awful and produced very grainy and blurry footage from poor lenses. I just did what I could to salvage what he sent to me and  converted his old VHSc tapes into a better Hi8 format in the 1990s, but the source tapes were pretty horrible quality and could not be enhanced much. I just brightened up the footage using video editing tools, eliminated the grainy footage using softening tools and cropped the footage to hide the bad tracking lines...so I did what I could. We did not have decent video cameras for consumers until the 1990's when the Hi-8 and later the Digital8 cameras came out.

That's the irony with candid beach scenes from the 1980's and candid scenes from today -- in the past video cameras quality was very. poor...but then the cameras got better and better and better.....but as the technology and cameras got better and better.....the actual scenes at the beach and the fashion trends got worse and worse for candid scenes. So in the past we had great scenes but they were captured only in low quality....and today we have great cameras.....but the scenes today are not as interesting as they used to be 30 years ago. Songkran water festival used to be fantastic in  the 1990's....but after going there every year for 14 years....the events and fashions became less and less interesting....so I finally gave up going to Thailand after 2012. I guess I overdosed on too much wetlook in the past, because everything started to become too mundane for my tastes.

Boy....if I had a wish....I would love to borrow Doctor Who's Tardis for a day, bring my 4K camera, and go back to Margate beach in the UK in the late 60's, where I witnessed my best wetlook memories. I only had a poloroid camera in those days, with no zoom lens.....would be great to use a modern 4K camera and go back in time.
