Being in my early 40s, it feels like age-appropriate women have already reached the age where child-like fun is all over, where you keep your hair dry in the pool if you go in at all. Also, as you age, your looks slowly fade away.

I’m far from being as mature as I should be for my age, and I still crave the simple fun I had far too little of in my life (I took play far too seriously!) — and although other people keep that sense of fun their whole lives, it feels like I’ve aged out of the market.

I never had any romantic encounters as a teenager (or in fact ever) so that remains an unresolved chapter of my life. At the same time, as cute as younger people are, I’m too old to share my life with someone either that young, or so far out of step with the world of my era.

There are sites that feature older women, but I just find them a lot less attractive, which is sad, because there are plenty of very attractive older women. Of course, what you see in someone special in life is not their looks but their soul, and it’s hard to make that kind of connection with a model, when you can’t look into each other’s eyes.

Yes, spontaneous is good — wish more of us had that in real life.
